This is my wife "CHARLIE" (Shirley Ann Pavliska - 1961)
Ask me why I used to (and sometimes still do) call her this.

This is "Charlie" - My "Eachgether" - My dear wife - The love of my life - Mother of my children... the only woman in the world who could have put up with the likes of me.

     This is a good a place to bring a word about "Computer Guru's." People new to the world of cyberspace ask; "Just exactly what is a computer guru?" Most instinctively know that this is a person who is light years ahead of them in knowledge of computers, but they need to understand that the definition is much more involved than just that. They need to know that everyone needs a computer a computer guru, not just neophytes. Don't buy a computer without you have one all lined up. Fo'gettaboutit! In fact everyone who depends on a computer for either work or pleasure has such a "guru", no matter how advanced in computereze he himself is. Even Bill Gates has a "computer guru".
      To have your own computer guru is a special thing because they are not easy to find and that is because they are special people. This person will have to think enough of you to accept your incessant phone calls in good humor no matter how bad the timing some of them are. Enough in fact to drop what he is doing on certain occasions, change his/her busy schedule, or sacrifice quality time with his family just to come over to your house and bail your lazy hinny out of the unholy mess you have gotten your computer into.
     Furthermore, it is against their code of ethics to accept payment of any sort for their assistance, either in goods or specie. To offer it is to insult them. You have go around hang-dog and feeling beholden to them all the time (you are), so get used to it. You have to make what little they will let you do for them seem like it is nothing to you, to even hope to partially repay their kindness. You have to try hard to do things for them like wash their car, give them a permanent, send flowers, send birthday and Christmas cards, shine their shoes, and whatever else you can think of. One must keep one's guru happy.
     Is there any way at all you can ever repay your guru for all his help and friendship? Yes thank the Lord. Sooner or later they have to see you standing on your own knowledge and abilities, and YOU in the role of "guru" for some other poor miserable soul just starting out computing!
     Do I have a computer guru? Moi?? But of Course! He both my friend and the one who offered you my introduction on the HOMEPAGE. Thanks for everything Doug!        ...Tony Miller
